Nouscio is a free, non-commercial community tool for EVE Online. We keep as little as we can, for as short a time as we can, and we never sell or share your data. There are no ads, analytics or tracking scripts.
What we store, and for how long
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| A sign-in cookie with a random account ID (encrypted) | Keeps you signed in on this device | 30 days, extended each time you use the app |
| Your linked characters: ID, name, and EVE login tokens (encrypted), plus which permissions you granted | Shows your characters and checks where they are | Until you remove the character or delete your account. Deleted automatically after 30 days without use |
| Names and IDs of pilots, corporations and alliances seen on public killmails | Search suggestions for everyone | 12 months after we last saw them |
| Names and IDs of pilots (and their corp and alliance) looked up inside your intel lens, with when and how often | Search suggestions for your own alliance only (see Intel lenses below) | 12 months after the last lookup |
| Pilot threat cards built from public killboard data, kept separately for each intel lens | Faster repeat lookups | Up to 6 hours |
| Which linked character is your main, and when you last changed it | Deciding your intel lens | Until you delete your account |
| Official alliance-to-alliance standings, if someone in that alliance approved contacts access | Recognising coalitions (see Intel lenses below) | Refreshed about every hour while used |
| Public killmails from the live kill feed | Recent activity, threat cards and alerts | 90 days |
| AI guide beta list: the characters, corporations or alliances the admin has given access | Deciding who can use the guide | Until the admin removes them; a character is removed when its account is deleted |
| Help assistant and AI guide: how many questions you asked each day and what they cost (not the questions or answers) | Daily and monthly limits that keep the free assistant and guide affordable | About 2 months; deleted with your account |
| Help & feedback requests: your messages, the replies, and your main character's name | Answering your questions and fixing problems | Until 90 days after the request is closed; deleted with your account |
| Corp comms setup, chosen by a corp leader: the corp's Discord server, the channels picked and what kind each is, whether it's shared with the alliance, and which character set it up | Showing those channels to the corp's members | Until a corp leader disconnects it; the setter's name is cleared if their account is deleted |
| Our skyhooks, connected by a Station Manager or director: the corp's skyhooks (planet, system, theft windows, reinforcement timers, reagent stock) and which character connected it | Showing those timers to members of that corp only, and alerts about them | Replaced every 15 minutes while connected. Deleted when the person who connected it presses Stop sharing, loses the role, removes that character or deletes their account, or after 7 days without a refresh |
| Feature usage counts: how many times each page, feature and setting value was used per day, added up across everyone | Seeing which features help and which defaults people change, so we can improve or remove them. No account, character, device or IP is stored with the counts, so they can't show who did what | 13 months |
| Jump bridges, connected by a director or Station Manager: the corp's Ansiblex jump gates (systems and names) and which character connected it | Route scout can route through them, for members of that corp's alliance (or the corp) | Replaced every hour while connected. Deleted on Stop sharing, when that character loses the role, leaves or is removed, with the account, or after 7 days without a refresh |
| Assets, wallet balance and journal, jump clones, implants, skill queues and planetary colonies of characters that allowed it | Assets & wallet, The Forge and skill alerts. Read live from EVE when you open the page or every 10 minutes for alerts | Not stored: held in memory for 5 to 10 minutes only |
| Fits you save in Fitting Studio (My fits) | So you can open them again on any device | Until you delete them, or with your account |
| Feature ideas you post and the ideas you vote for | Help & feedback → Ideas and Planned. Ideas are shown to every user without your name; only the admin can see which character posted one | Kept while useful. Deleting your account removes your votes and your name from your ideas (the idea text stays) |
| Your characters' kill and loss history from zKillboard, if you press "Import my history" in How I fly (including the fits of ships you lost) | Your How I fly profile. Only you see it | Up to 2 years back by kill date; "Forget it" removes it, and it's deleted with your account |
| Intel channel reports your watching computer sends to your other devices (only if you turn on "Send intel from this computer to my other devices") | So your phone and other browsers see the same reports and alerts. The report as typed in the channel, including pilot names; your chat logs themselves stay on your computer. Your account only, never your corp or alliance | The time you choose: 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Turning it off removes what that computer sent |
| Replies you post under ideas | Discussion threads under ideas. Shown to every user without your name; only the admin can see which character posted one | Until you delete them (each has a Delete link) or delete your account, which removes them all |
| How many new pilots you looked up in the last 10 minutes (a number only) | The lookup limit (60 new pilots per 10 minutes) | Deleted after a day, or with your account |
| Your standings: a list of pilot, corporation and alliance IDs with your standing toward each, merged from your characters' EVE contacts (only for characters that approved contacts access) plus your own corps and alliances | Coloring the kill feed: friendly losses red, hostile losses green | Refreshed about every hour; deleted with your account |
Your characters' locations are not stored. We ask EVE for your characters' location, online status and ship each time you open the page, show it to you, and discard it. Alerts near your characters are worked out in your browser session and aren't stored.
Who else is involved
- CCP Games (EVE login and ESI). You sign in on CCP's site and approve exactly which permissions we get. We use your login only to read your own characters' location, online status and ship, to search pilot names, and to read your contacts (standings) so the kill feed can show friend from foe. Your contacts are never shown to anyone else. If you press Set in-game route in Route scout, we also ask for permission to set autopilot waypoints, and use it only when you press that button. Corp directors who want to connect Discord are asked for permission to read their corporation roles, used only to check they're a director (CEOs don't need it).
- Discord (Corp comms). If your corp's CEO or a director connects the corp's Discord server, Nouscio's bot reads only the channels they picked (announcements, fleet ops, doctrines). It can't post. When a corp member opens Nouscio, we fetch recent messages from those channels and show them with the author's Discord display name; message text is held in memory for a few minutes and never saved. Only members of that corporation see them (or the whole alliance, if the alliance's executor corp chooses that). Nothing about you is sent to Discord.
- zKillboard. Pilot lookups and the kill feed use zKillboard's public data. We send them only the public ID of the pilot being looked up, never anything about you.
- Anthropic (the help assistant and the AI guide). When you ask the assistant in Help & feedback or the AI guide, your question and the conversation so far are sent to Anthropic's API so Claude can write the answer. The guide also sends which page you're on and, in Fitting Studio, the fit you're building with its stats and the skill levels used. To answer game questions the guide may run a few web searches on EVE sites (EVE University wiki, eve-survival.org, Reddit, EVE Online pages) through Anthropic; the searches are about the game, not you. Nothing else about your account or characters is sent, and Nouscio doesn't store the conversation. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data isn't used to train models.
- EVE image server. Portraits and ship icons load straight from CCP's image server, so your browser contacts it directly.
- Cloudflare hosts the app and its database. Like any web host, its systems see standard request information such as your IP address. Our error logs are kept for a few days.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. Login tokens are encrypted (AES-GCM) before they're saved. The sign-in cookie can't be read by scripts on the page.
Your choices
- Remove one character: the × next to it in the "Your characters" panel deletes its stored login.
- Sign out on this device: in the account menu; removes the cookie from this browser. Your characters stay linked.
- Sign out on all other devices: in the account menu; every other browser or phone signed in to your account is signed out, and this one stays signed in.
- Sold or transferred characters: when a character moves to another EVE account, it leaves your group and its stored login is deleted. The new owner never sees your other characters.
- Alerts near your characters are worked out from public killmails and your characters' current systems each time the page checks; nothing about them is stored on our side. Their settings stay in your browser.
- Intel channels: your chat logs are read on your computer and never uploaded. The folder you pick is remembered in your browser (only a reference to the folder, not its files) so watching can resume; "Forget folder" on the Intel channels page removes it.
- Lookup history is kept only in your browser tab (session storage) and is cleared when you close the tab. A collapsed or expanded sidebar is remembered on your device.
- Delete everything: "Delete my account and all stored logins" in the account menu (top right) permanently removes your account, characters, standings and help requests.
- Revoke access on CCP's side: in your EVE account settings, under third-party applications, you can remove Nouscio at any time.
Contact
Use Help & feedback in the app's sidebar to ask a question, report a problem or request your data. Replies appear there; we don't use email. Only the Nouscio admin can read requests, and the admin can't see your characters, locations or standings.
Intel lenses: your alliance's intel stays in your alliance
Who you look up is itself intel. So anything Nouscio learns from what users do is kept inside an intel lens and never shown outside it:
- Your lens is your main character's alliance (or corporation if it has no alliance). Characters in NPC corporations get a private lens of their own. Alts in other alliances don't count, and you can change your main only once every 7 days, so an alt can't be used to look into another alliance's intel.
- Names you look up appear in search suggestions only for members of your lens.
- Threat cards are cached separately per lens, so no one can tell from "cached" or a fast answer that someone in your alliance looked a pilot up. Card lookups to zKillboard also skip the shared web cache for the same reason.
- Two alliances share intel only if both alliances' official contacts set the other at +5 or better. One side setting the other blue isn't enough.
- Public information (the kill feed, gate camps, killmail names) is the same for everyone.
Other pilots
Pilot lookups, the kill feed, the intel map, the daily briefing and meta research use only public killmails, the same information anyone can see on zKillboard. Meta research keeps the fits of ships that died (modules only, not who flew them) for 90 days. Fitting Studio's How I fly looks only at your own characters' killmails, is worked out when you open it, and isn't stored. We don't track other players: there is no way to follow or watch a specific pilot, and we don't record other players' locations or movements.
